Prenatal
Prenatal Massage in Raleigh, NC
Pregnancy asks a lot of a body — the low back, the hips, the sleep. Prenatal massage is careful, well-positioned work that gives some of that comfort back. I offer it at my North Raleigh studio and in your home, which by the third trimester is often the version that makes the difference between booking and not.
Safety is the technique
Prenatal work is ordinary massage skill plus positioning discipline. I work with side-lying setups and supportive cushioning rather than face-down pressure on a belly cutout, adjust depth and areas of focus by trimester, and keep the intake conversation current as your pregnancy progresses.
My intake form asks about your physician or midwife, and for higher-risk pregnancies I'll ask you to check in with them before we book — not as a formality, but because coordinated care is the standard this work deserves.
What clients actually book it for
Low back and hip pain lead the list, followed by swollen legs, restless sleep, and the general sense of carrying a load that never sets down. Massage won't remove that load, but easing the muscles doing the carrying — and giving your nervous system an hour of genuine rest — often changes how the whole week feels.
In-home prenatal sessions are the quiet favorite: no drive, your own bathroom steps away, and when the session ends you're already where the nap is.

Common Questions
Is prenatal massage safe?
For most healthy pregnancies, yes — with a trained therapist using proper positioning. If your pregnancy is high-risk, talk with your physician or midwife first; my intake asks about this so we can make the right call together.
Which trimesters do you work with?
I see clients across pregnancy, with the work adapted to each stage. Tell me where you are when you book and we'll set the session up accordingly.
Do you use a pregnancy table with a belly hole?
No — I use side-lying positioning with supportive cushions, which is more comfortable and lets me work effectively without pressure on the belly.
Can you come to my home for prenatal massage?
Yes, and it's the version most third-trimester clients choose. I bring the table, linens, and cushioning; you provide the room and the nap afterward.
